Broke in two months Oct 30, 2009
By Extremophile I used this lightly for a few weeks, and yet: 1) it turned inside out during the first moderately windy day, 2) it became permanently stuck open when I accidentally opened it with it wrapped up. This happened right at the 60 day return mark, so I can't even return the dang thing. I'm now looking at a different brand that's even cheaper for the same idea and sold locally.
What's funny is I've got a Totes umbrella that's lasted me 3+ years that I bought for $25. It's just too bulky to fit in the lockers at the gym, hence why I bought this one.

it broke after two weeks Mar 11, 2011
By aixvms i used the umbrella twice...the first time no wind, no problem. the second time, there was a wind gust, the umbrella turned inside out, several of the ribs broke off and the umbrella became useless... this is an overpriced piece of junk

Broke in 12 months Feb 09, 2011
By OJ*NYC This very pricey umbrella broke in 12 months. I bought it because it was "guaranteed for life" from OREGON! I did not even use it that much; the nylon ripped apart on the top with no warning and for no apparent reason. Customer service at shedrain.com did not return my email... Although I enjoyed the nice design, it really didn't live up to my expectations, and I will NEVER BUY AGAIN FROM SHED RAIN. At least, they could have sent some apologies or something... They preferred to hide.
Broken first time Apr 15, 2012
By matt It was a gift so I can't return or replace. First time use, press button, opens, and the nylon cord that I think is the power train, snapped. It won't work manually either because it won't stay up/locked into place. There's nothing I could do put put it in the recycle bin. Made in China.
Beware of size Apr 10, 2012

Order this expensive product and was disappointed with the size. Beware the coverage is measured up and over the canopy, not the width. For a guy it's a bad choice. Go with the compact super jumbo product as it gives better coverage and costs less.
