Our dance group decided to wear gold-colored vests with our tuxedos for our ballroom dance leadout. Rental at the local tuxedo shop would have been around $36. I explored our options and found these Vesuvio Napoli brand vest-necktie sets. They were on sale and the price of purchasing them was about half what it would have been to rent. Since I got 13 of them, shipping was free. While the description of the product suggests an Italian product, it is, in fact, an Italian name given to a product made in China. I don't know if there is a Vesuvio Napoli clothing line in Italy. That's the only negative, as far as I am concerned. The material is 100% polyester with a satin-like feel and look. The tailoring is perfect. The vest has a full back and it is lined. The sizes run a bit large (we got 3 different sizes) but all the men were pleased with the fit, look, comfort and the quality. We opted for the long tie which we wore either with lay down or wing collars. The long tie and the vests looked good with either shirt. Since we were clearly hamming it up, I wore mine with a black tuxedo shirt which made me look like a clichéd, but stylish gangster from the 30s. Considering that one will wear a gold tuxedo vest and tie only occasionally, this product will satisfy most, but the most discerning. Maybe the folks demanding best quality and to whom money is no object will be disappointed that it is not an Italian product, but, then, those folks don't shop at Amazon, or do they? In this instance, you actually get more than what you paid for. Having shopped around for a couple of nights and looked at hundreds of vest-tie combination, I don't think we could have done better than we did with this Vesuvio Napoli set. All the women and guests complimented us on the look. And that what it's all about, isn't it?

The vest I received has a dull, no luster, look that's more of a light yellow than gold color. The polyester cloth material seems to be durable, but it looks cheaply sewn together. Overall, I wasn't impressed and wouldn't have bought it had I seen it firsthand.

The color was spot on for what we needed, however the vest itself felt very cheaply made. It was the wrong size but because it took so long to get to me, I didn't have time to return it for the next size in time for our wedding June 1st. Everything else that was ordered for our wedding from various sites arrived within 2-3 days. This vest took a week which meant it would take another 2 wks for the corrected size to come back. Not good.

I got this vest to match my prom date's dress. It isn't as gold as it looks in the picture. Its more of a light yellowish gold color. Which made me match somebody else in my prom group, not my date. it wasn't really a big deal, so i'm not taking off for it. I just wore it to another dance, without a jacket (it was way too hot to have a jacket) and i got a TON of complements on it. It's pretty well made, as far as I can tell. The adjustment strap in the back holds just fine. The waist pockets are fake. they're just there for show. Its really not important unless you have a pocket-watch to put in it or something. so its not a very big deal at all. overall, I think its a great product.
